Property Taxes

**Important Note: The 2024 taxes have added increased charges and an additional tax to each Westmoreland County Property. These changes include raising the County Property Tax rate from 21.49 mils to the base tax of 25 mils, the maximum allowed by Pennsylvania Law. In addition to that increase, Westmoreland County Commissioners voted to add a County Debt Tax of 3.48 mils, reflecting on your property tax bills. The Westmoreland County Commissioners voted on this tax to pay off the $14 million debt that has continued to build over many years. To pay back the 14 million dollars in debt, a tax was added to all properties in Westmoreland County. Tentative projections are for collection of the County Debt Tax to be collected for years to come. **
